We are proud to be supporting the 6th annual Gas Safety Week, a brilliant national awareness campaign aimed at keeping you safe and warm in your homes.
It runs from September 19 – 26 and is co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register, which lists all the engineers legally allowed to work with domestic gas appliances.
Why is the campaign important? Essentially, because it draws attention to simple checks you can make around the home to ensure you and your family remain out of danger all year round.
We know that it is easy to become complacent when it comes to servicing a boiler or fitting carbon monoxide alarms. We all lead busy lives. Yet every year, thousands of people across the country are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning, an odourless gas which can kill without warning.
Many more risk gas leaks, fires and even explosions by not following a few essential rules.
Every day this week, we will be highlighting these simple measures on our Facebook and Twitter pages in the form of daily tips and checks. We really hope you will take a look.
They will include six easy steps to help keep you safe and warm in your home, including encouraging householders to have all gas appliances regularly serviced and safety checked.
The most important advice, however, is to always use a GasSafe registered engineer to fit, fix and service your appliances. At MTHC we take this issue very seriously and always provide customers with up-to-date accreditation, as well as details of our work history, experience and client testimonials.
Gas Safety Week brings together all industry professionals in one common goal – to increase awareness of hidden dangers in the home and to help ensure that no family suffers a needless and avoidable tragedy.
We hope you will keep an eye out for our daily tips this week, but if you have any specific questions we would be delighted to hear from you directly. You can contact us by phone, email or on social media. Thank you very much – and stay safe.
